This is our basic course of firearm instruction. This course is designed to introduce new students to the basics of marksmanship and safe firearm handling. Students will receive two hours of classroom instruction and two hours of professional coaching on our indoor range.
- Universal rules of firearm safety.
- Introduction to the Fundamentals of Marksmanship.
- Basic handgun operation.
- Hands-on live fire instruction.
What you will need:
- Bring an appropriate firearm or obtain a rental firearm from National Range & Armory (rental included in class cost). We have multiple styles of rental firearms available and will be happy to assist you in making a good selection.
- Eye and ear protection
- 50 rounds of factory ammunition
(can be purchased the day of the class) - At least one magazine for semi-auto pistols
- Note-taking materials (notebook, pens/pencil, etc.)
4 hours in length: 2 in classroom, 2 on range
Handgun Level 2 – Pistol Marksmanship
Building on Handgun Level 1, this course focuses on the skills required to accurately operate a handgun. Here students will hone the fundamentals of marksmanship. This course will provide each student with the most amount of direct instruction available in order to build a solid foundation of firearm skill. This class will consist of classroom instruction as well as range time.
- Prerequisite: Students must be able to demonstrate safe firearms handling in order to take this course. While not required, inexperienced shooters are encouraged to consider our Handgun Level 1 class prior to taking Handgun Level 2.
- Universal rules of firearm safety.
- How to properly grip a handgun.
- Trigger control and follow through.
- Handgun manipulation and operation.
- Live fire instruction.
What you will need:
- A serviceable centerfire pistol and necessary accessories
- Eye and ear protection
- 100-150 rounds of factory ammunition
(can be purchased the day of the class) - Two (2) magazines or speed loaders
- Note-taking materials (notebook, pens/pencil, etc.)
Rental firearms are not available for this course. This class is designed to help you develop your skills with your own equipment.
4 hours in length: 2 in classroom, 2 on range
