$100 / Session


One-on-one instruction is available for any student at any level from beginning basics to advanced coaching.

You will discuss your individual needs with your personal instructor and plan one or more sessions that fit your schedule.

Your time can be spent in the classroom, on the shooting range, or both classroom and range based on a personalized training plan.

One-on-one instruction includes targets, lane rental, and firearm rental if applicable.  If renting a firearm, purchasing ammunition is required and is not included in the training price.

Intro to Handguns

$75 Per Student


  • Universal rules of firearm safety.
  • Basic handgun terminology.
  • Basic handgun manipulation and operation.
  • The basics of ammunition.
  • Firearm storage considerations.
  • Overview of Pennsylvania firearm laws.
  • Required Materials: This class will consist of classroom instruction only. Students should bring note-taking materials (notebook, pens/pencils, etc) with them on the day of class.
  • 2 hours in length
This is the most basic course of firearm instruction offered by National Range & Armory. This two hour non-shooting course is designed to introduce a student with no prior firearms experience to safe firearm handling and ownership. Students will leave with the knowledge to make an informed firearm purchase.

Handgun 1 – Basic Pistol Operation

Handgun Level I – Basic Pistol Operation


$60 Per Student


This is our basic course of firearm instruction, designed to introduce new students to the basics of marksmanship & safe firearm handling. Students will receive two hours of classroom instruction & two hours of professional coaching on our indoor range.

This class is intended for:

  • Those who have never shot a firearm before
  • New firearm owners
  • Experienced firearm owners seeking a refresher with modern techniques

4 hours in length:  2 in classroom, 2 on range

What you will need:

  • Personal firearm or National Range & Armory rental firearm.  Rental included in the class cost.  Training staff are happy to assist in selecting the proper rental firearm for you.
  • At least one magazine for semi-auto pistols
  • 50 rounds of factory ammunition*
  • Eye & ear protection*

Handgun 2 – Handgun Marksmanship

Handgun 2 – Handgun Marksmanship

$100 Per Student


Building on Handgun Level 1, this course focuses on advancing students' marksmanship abilities.  Here students will hone their skills and are driven to shoot both farther and faster.  Instructors provide tailored guidance to cement the foundations of shooting and gun handling, as well as push students to reveal areas of improvement.

Topics covered:

  • Universal rules of firearm safety
  • Refinement of stance, grip, & trigger control
  • Introduction to rapid-fire techniques & recoil control
  • Introduction to malfunction clearance
  • Live fire instruction

This class is intended for:

  • Those who are comfortable with the basics & looking to advance their marksmanship skills in the areas of accuracy and speed.

4 hours in length:  2 in classroom, 2 on range

Prerequisite:  Students must be able to demonstrate safe firearms handling in order to take this course.  While not required, students should be able to confidently meet an accuracy standard of 4-5" groups at five yards prior to class attendance. 

What you will need:

  • Personal centerfire firearm.  Rental firearms are not available for this course.  This course is focused on your equipment. 
  • Two magazines or speed loaders
  • 100 rounds of factory ammunition*
  • Eye & ear protection*

Handgun Level III – Intermediate Handgun Operation

$125 Per Student


  • Prerequisite: This course requires successful completion of NR&A Handgun Level II or a 1 on 1 live fire evaluation with NR&A Instructor Staff to ensure readiness.  
  • Review the universal rules of firearm safety.
  • Drawing from a holster.
  • Different types of reloading.
  • Advanced handgun manipulation.
  • Required Materials: This class will consist of classroom instruction as well as range time. Students should bring note-taking materials (notebook, pens/pencils, etc), a functional and appropriate center fire pistol, 150 rounds of factory ammunition, three magazines or speed loaders, magazine pouches, an appropriate holster, eye and ear protection, an open mind and willingness to learn.
  • 3 hours in length
    1 in classroom, 2 on range
  • Note: This course is a prerequisite for Handgun Level IV
Continuing on the skills gained in Handgun Level II, Handgun Level III is designed to provide instruction to the student who can demonstrate proficiency and safe operation on their own firearm and is seeking knowledge on more advanced operation. Instruction will focus on drawing from a non-concealed holster, firing to effectively neutralize a target and reloading from a magazine pouch or carrier.

This course will require students to provide a serviceable center fire pistol and necessary accessories. Fitted holster and magazine/speed loader pouches are required. We use and recommend Kydex holsters. Universal holsters are not permitted. Please contact us with any equipment specific questions prior to your class. Rental firearms are not available for this course.

Handgun 3 – Introduction to Defensive Pistol

Handgun 3 – Introduction to Defensive Pistol

$125 Per Student


This more advanced course will build on concepts learned in Handgun 2 by introducing shooters to more complex firearms handling for a self-defense application.

Topics covered:

  • Safety protocols for advanced level firearm handling
  • Drawing
  • Reloading
  • Shooting from cover
  • Shooting while moving

This class is intended for:

  • Those with an interest in defensive use of a firearm for the purpose of concealed carry

6 hours in length:  3 in classroom, 3 on range

Prerequisite: Students must have pre-qualified through Handgun 2 or through instructor evaluation.
 
This is a physically demanding class. Students will be asked to move, stand for long periods of time, and shoot from awkward positions. Accommodations can be made for those with disabilities.
 

What you will need:

  • Personal self-defense appropriate firearm with three magazines or speedloaders.  Rental firearms not available for this course.
  • 200 rounds of factory ammunition*
  • Eye & ear protection*
  • Belt mounted holster suitable for repeated drawing & holstering. Inside-the-waistband universal soft holsters prohibited. Fitted, rigid holster preferred.
  • Belt-mounted magazine or speedloader carrier
  • Pants or shirts with belt loops & belt capable of supporting a firearm. If concealed carry is the student's objective, plan attire appropriately.

Intro to Competitive Action Shooting

Intro to Competitive Action Shooting

$125 Per Student

The action shooting sports not only provide a competitive outlet for firearm enthusiasts, they are the best way to test equipment, marksmanship, & firearm-manipulation skills under pressure. Our class is a low-stress introduction to USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, and 3-Gun, instructed by Master-level USPSA & IDPA shooters & Range Officers. This six-hour class walks students through their first match, including the completion of several courses of live fire.

Prerequisite: Students must have pre-qualified through Handgun 2 or through instructor evaluation.

6 hours in length: 3 in the classroom, 3 on the range

This class is intended for:

  • Those who wish to move beyond simply shooting on a static range & improve their core shooting skills as a competitive outlet or for defensive applications.

Topics covered:

  • Safety protocols specific to competitive environments
  • Match rules & equipment
  • Drawing
  • Reloading
  • Shooting while moving

Things you will need:

  • 100 rounds of ammunition
  • A serviceable centerfire pistol and necessary accessories
  • Fitted holster and magazine/speed loader pouches are required
  • We use and recommend Kydex holsters. Outside-the-waistband holsters preferred.  Universal holsters are not permitted.
  • A sturdy belt
  • Rental firearms are not available for this course.

Handgun Level IV – Handgun Operator

$200 Per Student


  • Prerequisite: This course requires successful completion of NR&A Handgun Level III or a 1 on 1 live fire evaluation with NR&A Instructor Staff to ensure readiness.  
  • Review the universal rules of firearm safety.
  • Movement to Contact.
  • Multiple target engagements.
  • Barricade Drills.
  • Introduction to the Defensive Mindset.
  • Required Materials: This class will consist of a small amount of classroom time but students can expect to spend a vast majority of the time on the range. Students should bring note-taking materials (notebook, pens/pencils, etc), a serviceable center fire pistol, 250 rounds of factory ammunition, four magazines or speed loaders, magazine pouches, an appropriate holster, eye and ear protection, an open mind and willingness to learn.  Knee and elbow pads are highly recommended for this class. 
  • 4 hours in length
    30 min classroom, 3.5 hours on range
This course is designed to provide instruction to the advanced student on the operation of their firearm under dynamic stress. This course will require the ability to assume improvised shooting positions (standing, kneeling, prone) as well as remain standing for long periods of time.

This course will require students to provide a serviceable center fire pistol and necessary accessories. Fitted holster and magazine/speed loader pouches are required. We use and recommend Kydex holsters. Universal holsters are not permitted. Please contact us with any equipment specific questions prior to your class. AR15 Lower Builder Class

AR15 Lower Builder Class

The modular nature of the AR-15 rifle has led to a vast market of diverse products to improve and customize your rifle. This class is designed to help students learn the skills required to build and modify an AR-15 lower receiver. Participants will fully complete an AR-15 stripped lower receiver making it ready to pair with an upper receiver and fire. Class will begin with an overview of the lower receiver components and the specialized tools required for assembly. Each student will then begin the step-by-step process of building their own lower following the guidance from our certified Gunsmith instructor. Once complete, each builder will have an opportunity to test fire their lower with a supplied upper receiver in our indoor range. Students will leave with a completed lower and the knowledge to build future projects, including understanding of the specialized tools used to make the build process more successful.

Requirements:
AR-15 Lower receivers are considered a Firearm by Federal law. All class participants must be 21 years old (or accompanied by a Parent or Guardian), a Pennsylvania Resident w/ Photo ID, and be able to pass a firearms background check on the day of the class.

AR15 Upper Builder Class

AR15 Upper Builder Class

$599.95 Per Student

Extending our Lower Receiver class, Students will learn how to complete a stripped upper receiver, install barrel, gas block & tube, barrel nut, and rail. Participants will also glean an understanding of specialized tools used to properly complete the build. They will also have an opportunity to test fire their upper in our indoor range. Each student will leave with their completed upper receiver and the knowledge to complete future projects.
